The technology-price-experts are worthless (Another rant)
Posted by WorldWalker128 May. 10, 2011 @ 11:03 PM EDTI'm sure we've all heard the statement that: "As newer technology comes out, the older stuff becomes cheaper!" The general understanding is that when the Ipad 2 came out that the first one would become more affordable. More affordable. Yeah, sure.
I work at Walmart. Yeah, I know, "OMG, you loser!" Save it. In this economy having any job is a good thing (except as a prostitute).
While the price for Ipad 2s may very well have gone down, we did not carry them long enough for this to become evident. Just three weeks after the newer one came out, we stopped carrying the first one altogether. Thus making that quote pointless. After that happened, I began paying attention to tech-stores in general and have found the same thing to be the case. What good does the older tech getting cheaper do us when stores cease to carry them in favor of the constantly increasingly more expensive newer tech? The answer? While it is the policy of companies to provide good service to their members, what we must always, ALWAYS remember that a company exists for one purpose: TO MAKE MONEY. Customer convenience only carries to, at maximum, the second or third level of authority. almost everyone about that is simply concerned with how much money they AREN'T making.
It makes me sick.
